Putting Renovations into Perspective
Don't Overspend On Your Renovations
When it comes to home renovations, many emotions spring to mind. At times, they can be stressful, exciting, or downright frightening! Knowing how much to spend on a renovation can also be challenging, not to mention where to focus your attention.
The main reason why people renovate is to update, add value, or sell. Shockingly enough more than a third of renovations end up going over budget!
If you’ve been considering a renovation, I have the perfect webinar for you! Find out how much to spend, how to stick to your budget, and mistakes to avoid.
During our time together, we will discuss how to budget for renovations, how to pick a contractor, and the most common types of home renovations. I would love for you to join me for Putting Renovations into Perspective on Wednesday, June 24th at 3:00 pm MST.
Find Out the Most Desirable Renovations
Certain renovations are obvious, for example, the 30-year-old kitchen. However, there are a number of updates that can be beneficial that you may overlook.
If your ultimate goal is to add value to your home, it’s important to get the most out of your renovation budget by remodeling features that will give you a return on your investment.
Making unwarranted upgrades that greatly exceed other properties in the area is a mistake. This is an example of a renovation that won’t benefit you when it comes time to sell. However, if you plan on living in the home for several years and will have time to enjoy your upgrades, then have at it!
When it comes to renovations for increasing value, stick with the basics. The basics include the things that buyers expect when they purchase a home. These can include a roof that doesn't leak, functioning gutters and downspouts, a dry basement, a reliable furnace, solid floors, and walls that are in good repair.

My personal goal for Putting Renovations into Perspective is to help you figure out how to create a renovation budget, how to stick to your budget, and how to get the most out of your renovation whether it's for your personal enjoyment or to boost resale value.
Too often homeowners cut corners during renovations only to wind up paying twice, once for the work then again to correct initial mistakes. Another mistake is not having contingency funds built into the budget. It’s rare for a renovation to not uncover something needing additional funds. If you have a plan for the unexpected, you can breathe easy when it comes time to pay added costs.
If you, or anyone you know, is considering any type of home renovation, this is the webinar for you!
